Throughout his 20-year career in makeup and hair, Derlig has worked with the best in fashion and film, including William Abranawicz, Pascal Demeester, Tierney Gearson, Dominick Guillemot, Todd Hido, Derek Kettela, Mark Lund, Anne Menke, Sheila Metzner, Kim Meyers Robertson, Anders Overgaard and Richard Phibbs. He has also worked with celebrities like Eva Green, Heidi Klum, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Amy Ryan and Marisa Tomei, to name a few. His work has been featured in advertising campaigns for brands such as Banana Republic, BCBG, The Gap, Nordstrom, Old Navy and Sundance Catalog.
Born in Berlin, Derlig began his training in makeup for opera, theater and film. After working with local fashion photographers, he quickly became interested in the world of fashion and beauty. He was immediately noticed and began working on editorial shoots in Europe for AMICA, Jalouse, Marie Claire, TANK, GQ and Elle. He is based in New York.
